We talked before about Kaede udon restaurant, located in the street next to our hostel. Apart from being a restaurant during the day, the local becomes an izakaya (Japanese bar) at night, serving udon and typical izakaya dishes .

Last Saturday a jazz concert was held. As the place is not big (we are in Japan) there is no space enough for many components, so it was a trio of bass, guitar and vocals. They played jazz standars, instrumental at the beginning, and later the singer joined them.

In the intermediate a chemistry professor, in a lab coat, amused us doing some failed experiments. But the important thing was the good atmosphere. Among the audience were almost all our guests of that night, who decided to join us for dinner and a few beers and some Umeshu (plum wine) Judging by the pictures posted on Facebook, everybody had a great time interacting with locals.

Unfortunately, Kaede Udon closes on March 26th, so this was the last concert held at the restaurant. We will miss the tasty udon of Nishimoto-san.
