One of the places we recommend in Nara is this garden located near the Todaiji Temple and Nara Park. Like all Japanese garden, the elements are arranged so that the visitor can enjoy a relaxing walk along ponds, waterfalls, wooden pavilions; or sit and drink matcha (green tea) in the teahouse by the pond.

So if you want to get away from the crowds surrounding the Todaiji temple and rest in a quiet place, this is a great option.

Opening hours from 9:00 to 17:00 (last admission at 16:30) From 28 December to mid-March it remains closed.

Although fee is 250 yen for Japanese, Yoshikien garden is free for foreign tourists, so do not forget bring your passport.
